In a packed and darkened room, students sat in awe while a Polish drama played on the silver screen.
The 1988 Polish film, “Decalogue 9,” was presented Moorpark College photography Professor John Gray.
“I was showing (“Decalogue 9″) because it is a classic television film,” said Gray.
“Decalogue 9,” a provocative film about a married Polish couple, unable to have children, due to the husband’s infertility.
In the film, the husband decides to allow his wife to have an affair with another man.
Although the husband had agreed to this estranged act, he instantly becomes enveloped with rage and jealousy towards his wife’s new lover.
The husband does not react physically, emotionally he causes his wife to break the relationship with her lover.
While stalking his wife, the character discovers he is truly in love with her.
The film raises the question can you love someone without sex and can you have sex with someone without love?
Gray has been involved with Multicultural Day for the past ten years. He said, “one day is just not enough.”
