The Music Exposed Festival was a week long event consisting of lectures, lessons, and concerts with the idea of removing the gap between artist and audience.
Held at Ventura College, the festival lasted from Feb.1 – Feb. 9 with a concert each day. Audiences were able to experience music in a different way with lessons and lectures gave spectators a better understanding of the artists and their music.
The Cesar Mateus Sextet preformed before a sold out audience. Their original Latin Jazz composition is influenced from Samba, Rumba, and Bolero as well as many other styles of music. They also discussed and demonstrated Jazz improvisation.
Bryan Pezzone and Miyuki Nakashima coached students in the arts of violin and piano and preformed together.
From Piano and violin to classical guitar the festival brought out a wide range of music and musicians. Students and audiences alike were treated to rare experiences that they soon won’t forget.
