Enjoy your day with live performances, art displays, and hands-on activities and crafts at the annual Moorpark Arts Festival that will take place on Saturday, April 27 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Civic Center at High Street at 45 East High Street.
Artwork from children and professionals will be displayed at the Moorpark Chamber of Commerce and the Arts Foundation Offices. There will also be a wide range of live performances at the High Street Arts Center at the outside stage.
Miranda Bryan, 19, Kinesiology major, says she enjoys the event and regularly attends it.
“I love the Arts Festival, “said Bryan. “I make sure to go every year.”
The live performances include “Moorpark Has Talent” show winners and participants, local dance companies and children groups.
There are three local dance companies that will be performing on the stages, three local authors and a local band named The Coveralls. The authors that will be talking about their books are Mary Ann Fraser, Joan Branfield Graham, and Tina Nichols Coury.
Additionally, there will be a featured artist, Alan Scott Craig. Craig designs elaborate flying boomerangs that look like various animals.
Dylan Gunning, Recreational Coordinator, encourages people to attend this traditional event.
“So make sure to stop by the Moorpark Arts Festival this Saturday for some fun,” said Gunning, Recreation Coordinator.
In between performances you can grab a bite of kettle corn or stop by any of the local restaurants on High Street.
The food available at the Festival, beside the restaurants local on High Street, are kettle corn and Hawaiian ice that will be located directly at the festival.
Parking and attendance are free. Event coordinators recommend that attendees park at the intersection of High Street and Walnut, the Moorpark Post Office 100 W HIGH ST, and the Moorpark Civics Center 799 Moorpark Ave.
