Students applying for Fall 2013 must submit their application by Nov. 30 for UC and CSU University. The Transfer Center is available to help students and guide them through the process of applying.
Career Transfer Center Coordinator Judi Gould has been helping students get their applications submitted. Gould encourages students who still have questions to stop into the Transfer Center Mon-Thurs. during the application drop in hours of 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Students will be able to pull their application up on the computers and have counselors in the Transfer Center review them before submitting. The Transfer Center is not the only place where students can go for help. Any counselor can assist on the application.
Gould also believes that students should be prompt on getting their application completed and submitted.
“Do not wait for the last couple of days or the last night,” said Gould.
Courtni Niss, 20, psychology major, has already submitted her application to Channel Islands without any problems.
“It was really easy to apply,” said Niss.
Students that are applying to CSU schools can find the application and instructions at www.csumentor.edu. UC applicants can find it at www.universityofcalifornia.edu.
Gould encourages students that have already applied to carefully watch incoming emails from schools because they can contain important deadlines and inform students as to when transcripts are due by.
Taylor Fitzpatrick, 20, nursing major, is planning on applying to CSUN or Channel Islands in the future. She also plans on taking advantage of the Transfer Center.
“I will probably use my counselor and the transfer center to help because I expect it to be hard,” said Fitzpatrick.
For students that have submitted their application and need to order transcripts can visit the Office of Records and Admissions for assistance.
Students looking to get help from the Transfer Center can find them inside of Fountain Hall or by calling 805-378-1536. For more information and updates on transfer degrees visit ADegreeWithAGuarantee.com
