This Saturday at Ventura College Sept. 4th 6p.m. marks the 42nd game between the Moorpark Raiders and the Ventura Pirates.
This game is important to the rivalry between theses two schools as they sit neck and neck at 21 wins apiece.
Ventura plans to execute their playbook accordingly and strive towards a winning season as well as taking the lead in the Citrus Cup rivalry; especially under former NFL coach and new head coach Steve Mooshigan.
With last year the Moorpark team finishing 0-10, they have high hopes for this season
“We are going to surprise a lot people this year,” said first year cornerback Shane Toth.
The expectations are also high for this year’s team.
“Our expectation is to return to a proud community college football program,” said Athletic Director Howard Davis.
This game looks to be a barn-burner, with both teams having the highest of hopes and going for the lead in a rivalry that dates back to 1968.
