In women’s volleyball the Moorpark College Raiders defeated the Oxnard College Condors three sets to none with ease.
In the first set Victoria Seui from the Condors started with a remarkable winning sensation as she was spiking the ball time and time again to give the Condors hope.
However, the Raiders did not let that deter them as they kept scoring serve after serve, ultimately winning the first game 25-8.
At the beginning of the second set, the Condors seemed more confident and came out strong as they jumped out to and early 9-6 lead, a big part of that was thanks to Myeisha Thompson.
The Raiders, however, weren’t having it, and they took a time-out and to put their team back together to take control of the second game.
The second set was very close as both teams seemed eager to take the victory. But again, the Raiders seemed more organized and comfortable on the court, which caused them to win the set 25-14.
Starting set three, it seemed as though the two teams would be closer matched, but again the Raiders seemed to have the game on lock-down as they came out prepared and ready for any surprises.
The Condors started strong with Domininque Franz scoring four points in a row, but Franz’s points were not enough to put them in the lead.
After the Condors scored nine points, the Raiders shut the door on the Condors offense as they moved on to win the third match 25-9.
The Condors’ coach David Fischer, believes that he lost to one of the better teams in the league.
“We basically got crushed,” said Fischer. “They ware trying to be a competitive team in one of the best leagues.”
