Recognizing the students’ hard work throughout the year, the annual juried student art show at the McNish Gallery in Oxnard College will be held on Monday May 3 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Ranging from beginning artists to advanced artists, the spread of skills show different talents in each field, according to Oxnard art department chair Christine Morla.
“With pieces from the traditional classics, it reflects foundation in the artists,” said Morla. “Whereas the intermediate artists have more abstract, experimental or conceptual art.”
This annual juried art show will showcase only Oxnard students, separating them into beginner, intermediate and advance categories. The art styles displayed will range from abstract, to surrealist, to traditional paintings to drawings.
In addition to the drawings and paintings ceramic sculptures from the ceramics program will be judged as well.
