Megamind was released Friday, Nov. 5th and is still going strong today as a box office hit making an estimated $47.6 million and counting, according to hollywoodtoday.net.
Megamind, directed by Tom McGrath, is an animated, PG-rated motion picture featuring mega stars and is packed with huge laughs in this sci-fi action comedy.
This film is fun for the whole family described as an epic tale told in Dolby Digital 3D of two characters who travel on a moral and adventurous journey according to a common theme: destiny. Conflict, romance and humor come into play as they encounter other characters along the way.
Fate guides Megamind (Will Farrell) and Metro Man (Brad Pitt) down very different paths. Megamind is raised in a state prison as an infamous criminal and Metro Man is raised in a loving home as an honored and admirable town hero.
Set in the city of Metropolis, crime reports are covered by Roxanne Richie (Tina Fey) and her nerdy, yet love-able, cameraman Hal (Jonah Hill). With the help of Megamind’s trusty companion Minion, they involve themselves in pretty unimaginable situations.
The town takes a turn for the worse when Metro Man is nowhere to be seen and the dynamic duo devise a master plan to train Hal to become the next superhero. Without good, there is no evil and vice-versa
Megamind falls in love with Roxanne during their immoral scheme. She discovers who he really is and denies her true feelings for him. As the story unfolds, Megamind and Minion’s idea backfires as the city goes awry when Hal transforms into a supervillain. It is now up to Megamind and Minion to answer the call and save Metropolis from Hal’s evil influence.
Megamind’s cast brings this motion picture to life. The story line is cleverly written with its visuals cleverly accompanying each comedic line, and the music composition is stylistically chosen from artists such as Hans Zimmer and Lorne Balfe, Elvis Presley, George Thorogood and The Destroyers and Minnie Riperton to name a few.
Megamind’s message is targeted specifically towards the general public and is a great lesson especially for children. So plan a date, grab your friends or your family, because you do not want to miss out on this movie.
