Ventura College will be offering summer camps for kids in the coming season that allow kids between the ages of 3 and 16 to come out and learn new skills, to play various sports and to have some fun.
All camps will be coached by Ventura College coaches for their respective sports, including swimming, soccer, baseball, basketball, softball, and volleyball.
Each camp starts and ends on separate days, but the first camps are set to open during the week of June 19; this includes baseball camp, which will be coached by VC coach Don Adams. Kids between the ages of 6 and 13 are eligible to participate in baseball camp for a fee of $100. Baseball camp will also be available during the weeks of June 26, July10 and July 17th.
Opening on June 26th is coach Greg Winslow’s basketball camp, which will also be offered during the week of July 31. Camp eligibility and cost also vary. “We Play Hard” basketball camp will have two sessions both directed by Ned Mircetic those sessions will take place on July 10-13 and July 17-20th. These camps cost $135 in advance. Boys and Girls ages 8-16 are eligible.
Soccer will offer full-day sessions and half-day sessions. Half-day sessions are for boys and girl between the ages of 5 and 14. Two weeks of full-day sessions are available for players aged 7 and older. This camp is designed for players who want to play soccerat a high level. Emphasis will be placed upon individual skills in camp conditions. Steve and Joey Hoffman will be directing this camp for its 10th year.
