Breathtaking images were on display in a computer-generated animation workshop, as part of the Moorpark College Multimedia Club’s first annual festival on Saturday.
Hans Rijpkema, a software developer from Rhythm & Hues Studios, showed some video clips of their latest works, which included scenes from “The Chronicles of Narnia.”
“If you know what animation is, we can teach you to be an animator,” he said.
Students, members of the MC Multimedia Club, and the general public gathered for the festival, which promoted Moorpark College’s multimedia program, to participate in workshops presented by representatives of the multimedia industry on April 29 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The festival provided information on what multimedia is, as well as an introduction for all who were interested.
“This Festival would not have been possible this year without the support of Associated Students here at Moorpark College, our generous speakers, most of whom have donated their time, and the unbelievable help from MCMMC members and Multimedia Dept. faculty,” said Tim Rosdahl of the club.
Some of the workshops consisted of learning Flash animation, digital music, digital photography, 3-D animation, and features from Apple’s latest operating.
During the course of the day, Professor Dan Restuccio, a Multimedia instructor from California Lutheran University, and Professor Fama Hoetzlin, from the University of California Santa Barbara’s Multimedia and Technological Arts program, also contributed by teaching some of their techniques using multimedia.
