Moorpark College is holding a series of lectures by current faculty addressing a series of economic issues.
These lectures are being held at the Moorpark College Television Studio (Communications Building 129) on Wednesdays between 12 and 12:50 p.m.
Lectures are available to anyone who wishes to attend. The lectures will also be streamed online at http://video.moorparkcollege.edu/
The first lecture is on Oct 15 and will be given by Rex Edwards (Economics Faculty), Navreet Sumal (Business Faculty), and Ray Zhang (Economics Faculty) and is titled “Bursting of the Bubble: Housing and the Economy”. This lecture focuses on how the housing market burst and the effect that this had on the economy.
The Second lecture will be on Nov 17 and will be given by Kathryn Adams (English Faculty) and is titled “The Earth Cries Out for Human Rights: Haiti Ten Months after the Quake”. Professor Kathryn Adams will speak about her experiences volunteering with a mental health team in Haiti, and she will share her observations about the economic, environmental, political, psychological, and physical damages to Haiti.
