Children and their parents can enjoy a day of fun and learningon March 25 at the semi-annual Discovery Day put on by Moorpark College’s nationally accredited Child Development Center.
“It’s a great place to bring your kids,” said parent Sam Kraymar. “I have two kids here and they will be here as college students before you know it.”
Different stations will enable kids to “mine for gold” in a sandbox, “dig for fossils” in ice, and “blast-off” in a space ship; among other activities.
Discovery Day is an open-house fundraiser geared for kids ages 2-10 and their families. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost for the event will be $5 per child and $3 per adult. The activities will take place at Child Development Center. Parents in the CDC program will provide food. Biology Professor Clint Harper’s the Sunshine Band will provide music for the event.”We’ve come for five years in a row,” said parent Vicki Cravens. “It’s wonderfully interactive for the kids. Every year I’ve come, my daughter has played in a different way. “
