Students who have interest in learning about the Health Center and its services are now being welcomed with free condoms and chocolate kisses between Feb. 1 and Feb. 15 in celebration of Valentine’s Day.
Dena Stevens, one of the registered nurses at the Moorpark College Health Center, said that this condom give out is not just a freeway into sex, but is to make students aware of safe sex and the precautions they should use.
This event has been going on every that this condom give out is not just an invitation to have sex, but is to make students aware of safe sex and the precautions they should use.
This event has been going on every year at Moorpark College.
Sara Person, 19, kinesiology major, said that she thinks it’s smart of the college to take precautions on this matter.
“I prefer that people wait until marriage, but much prefer they use protection if they are going to do it,” said Person.
Denise Radford, 22, history major at Moorpark College, doesn’t particularly like the idea of the condom giveaway. “I consider this a joke because they are doing this especially during the Valentine’s Day time,” said Radford. “It seems a bit cliché.”
