America’s Teaching Zoo at Moorpark College is hosting their 23rd annual fundraiser extravaganza called “Spring Spectacular,” starting on March 23 through April 7.
The fundraiser will feature unique vendors, games, food, and live animal shows.
In addition to the ceremony starting on March 23, on the 24th, they will be hosting a special birthday bash for “Clarence”, a Galapagos Tortoise. The 500-pound tortoise will be turning 90 years old this month and his species is becoming an endangered species due to habitat exploitation and destruction.
The birthday celebration will begin at 11:15 a.m. The party will include cake for the tortoise and the visitors, a birthday card, and special displays demonstrating Clarence’s trip from the Galapagos Islands.
Tickets cost $10 for adults and $7 for seniors and children. Spring Spectacular is happening on March 23-24, March 30-31, and April 6-7 starting at 10 a.m.
