A Moorpark College student was found dead Oct. 15. at a popular hiking spot in the Santa Monica Mountains.
18-year-old Tristan Sayre went for a hike on the previous day near the Sandstone Peak area of the Santa Monica Mountains and never returned home, according to Senior Deputy Shane Matthews with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Aviation Department.
It isn’t yet known what happened, but Michael Tellez, Ventura County Deputy Medical Examiner said it was deemed an accident and the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head.
