Former LAPD officer and Moorpark College student Fred Romero’s photography is being shown in both the Pink Flamingo Gallery, located in Moorpark College’s room HSS 129, and at Camarillo Camera located on Ventura Blvd. in Camarillo.
“The fasciniation for the streets was part of my life growing up,” said Romero. “South Central and downtown L.A., those are my two favorite places to take shots.”
The Los Angeles native is anxious to start a new project and has been working on the one on display for quite a while.
Romero names Moorpark College photography professor Steve Calis as his mentor, and although his current exhibit is a series of self portraits, his primary inspiration is provided by the urban playground and city scapes of his youth.
