Students planning to transfer to a university next fall can talk to representatives from more than 50 campuses from public and private universities around the country at the annual Transfer Day this Thursday at Ventura College.
Transfer Day can lead to be very helpful for students hoping to get admitted to a university.
“It is an excellent opportunity for students to get information in order to maximize their chances of college admission,” stated Aseneth Cota, Ventura College’s Transfer Office director. “We are expecting a great student turnout.”
During Transfer Day, students will be able to walk freely around, scanning booths of their favorite schools and those they would like to know more about. Staffing the booths are representatives who will answer students’ questions on admissions policies, tuition and other topics. Information packets will also be located at these booths which can give students better knowledge about what the university can offer.
Moorpark held its Transfer Day on Oct. 5, outside in the quad area. Oxnard hosted its event on Oct. 6, near the clock tower. Ventura will be having its Transfer Day on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., outside in the main quad.
Among the many schools represented are several California State University and University of California, including UCLA, UCSB, Cal Poly SLO, CSUN, and USC. Other representatives come from out-of-state schools such as University of Hawaii Pacific and University of Arizona to name just a few. All types of schools will be on campus ranging from art institutes to fashion institutions to engineering to many other types of trade schools.
