Representatives from UCSB, CSUN and CSUCI will be on hand to host sessions and meetings for students, so they may discover vital information about these universities.
Interim Transfer Center Coordinator Cesar Flores stressed the importance that interested students should attend.
“These are opportunities for students to meet with these representatives one on one,” he said.
These meetings, where students can discuss their current transfer situation with campus representatives, will help the students be more competitive when they apply to their respective schools, Flores said.
Art major Olguin Tapia, 21, currently attending his last year at Oxnard College, says the Transfer Days helped him to see what his options would be if he wanted to transfer.
“It helps out, because for example, I wanted to transfer to a university and I needed to know a lot of information that I wouldn’t get from a transfer counselor,” said Tapia. “Any general information or question I needed from a specific school, they came here, and they gave me the information I needed, so it was pretty cool.”
Interested students may visit or call the transfer center for appointment times and session times in LRC-6 or at (805) 986-5837 for more information. The sessions are popular with students, according to Flores.
UCSB will be holding their sessions on: Oct. 8 and 28, as well as on Nov.18, from 9 a.m. to noon.
CSUCI’s sessions are occurring on Nov. 11, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, and on Dec.2, from 9 a.m. to noon.
The CSUN sessions will be on November 12, from 9 a.m. to noon, Nov. 20, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and on Thursday, Dec. 4, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
To avoid disappointment, Flores always encourages students to apply for a session as soon as possible.
