“Layla Lane” is a well-known music duo in Japan. Valerie Stern and He-day performed during Multicultural day on April 15.

He-day and Valerie started their career in a Coca-Cola commercial. Coca-Cola actually reached out to the two performers and they are well known in Japan.

Agoura High School alumni Valerie Stern currently teaches piano lessons at Long Beach City College.

“Hard work and dedication is the reason from where I was to where I got to today,” Stern said.

He-day explained that he got into music because of the early artists that were around that time. He says that his greatest inspirations were The Beatles.

The two performers are very talented and one of their songs was featured in a film called “Killers” starring Ashton Kutcher and Katherine Heigl. They are also fluent in Japanese.

The performance took place in room 109 at the music building. Most of the audience that were in attendance were children who were visiting Moorpark College.
