Outdoors club at moorpark
May 6, 2014
At Moorpark College there are a lot of clubs for students to join. Every year an event called Club Rush invites students to make new friends and even develop new hobbies.
One of the clubs that is becoming popular is the outdoors club. This club encourages students to play extreme frisbee, go hiking and play soccer.
Chris Mclaughan, a 19-year-old engineering major, is the man in charge of the outdoors club and gives insight on its importance.
“What makes this club so special, is the people who are a part of this club,”said Mclaughan.
He also said that it was started just as a regular place to hangout with friends and classmates from different classes.
David Ascarrunz-Becerra, is another member of the club and he explains why he thinks the outdoors club is important.
“I think that being in a club can be useful for your transfer resume,” said Ascarrunz-Becerra. “This is only my second day but I am much more involved in the club.”
The club was promoted at Club Rush 2014 and meets on Fridays from 1p.m. to 4p.m. near the football field at the lower parking lot by the new parking structure.
More information on the club can be found on their Facebook or Twitter pages.
