Graduations wrap up the spring semester

Moorpark College hosted its 2014 graduation Thursday, which saw many students move onto other bright events in the world of college education.
Moorpark College said goodbye to the class of 2014, and had an array of great to interesting speeches. Dr. Bernard Luskin, the school president, kicked it off with a remarkable speech talking about family. He wanted students to understand the importance of family, and how their family members helped those students get through the tough.
“We are going to be doing a ritual we have done here at every graduation,” said Luskin.” I want you guys to stand up, and when you stand up I want you to look for your family members. See them, and wave to them.”
Parents were yelling to get the attention of their children, so the children could see them. Luskin went on to continue his speech, and talking about how proud he was of the class of 2014. As well talking about how great of a school Moorpark College is.
“You guys are graduating from one of the best Colleges in America, be proud of yourself,” said Luskin.
Besides Luskin, and the words that he sent out to the students, the students learned to keep their heads calm. They did a little breathing exercise to keep them going, and were also honored to be spoken to by the chancellor of the Ventura County, Jamillah Moore, who also spoke to the students.
“Today is your day, “ said Moore. “ When you get that diploma I want you to go, and hand it to the person you love most, and share the day with them.”
Telling the students to be happy of the accomplishment they have done in thier times at Moorpark College. Students seemed to enjoy the their time at Moorpark College, and the speeches given on the day.
“I thought I was selling myself short coming to Moorpark,” said graduating student Andrew Brown,” The people though I have met here, and all I have done here has prepared me for great things in the future.”
Moorpark College congratulates the class of 2014 for their achievement of graduating from the college. It is a start of a great new journey for all the students moving on forward.
