On Tuesday, Nov. 11, Moorpark College will be holding its annual Veteran’s Day Luncheon to give student veterans the opportunity to enjoy a meal with each other.
“Since we don’t have a veteran’s resource center, this is the one time a year when [veteran’s] can get together and mingle,” said Veteran’s Counselor Giselle Ramirez in an email.
The event put together by Ramirez, will be held on Veteran’s Day Nov. 11, in the Campus Conference Center in the Cafeteria from 1-3 p.m.
Lunch will be served from 1-2 p.m. and will be followed by a welcome from Interim President Dr. Bernard Luskin. Ramirez will also explain the purpose of the event and the role she plays as the Veteran’s Counselor.
A string of speakers will close the event with student introductions, Health Center Coordinator Sharon Manakas, Jeff Mora of the Ventura Veterans Center and Mona Luna.
“I do this even so that veterans can meet other veterans on campus and get to know one another,” said Ramirez.
