Student artist, Amy C. Nelson’s, Blink! (A cyanotype Gallery) brings a different perspective and approach to Moorpark College.
Nelson’s distinct style is called cyanotyping. This aesthetic is achieved by creating photographs through a process of using ultraviolet rays, that then produce a cyan, or blue, print.
“It’s a very different process and students can do different things to be creative,” said Nelson regarding the art of cyanotype.
The unique name of Blink! was greatly inspired by nature and Earth’s different angles.
“The whole collection basically [reminds people] to take a second to see the natural world in a whole different way and appreciate Earth,” said Nelson.
Blink! will be open from April 20-24 located in the Pink Flamingo Gallery, in HSS 129 for students and community members to view.
Gallery hours are Monday/Wednesday 1-5p.m. and Tuesday/Thursday 9a.m.-12p.m. and 3-9p.m.
