Put on a smile and grab some friends because it is time to enjoy a couple nights of laughter at the upcoming comedy shows at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza.
Brian Regan and Ron White will be performing at the Fred Kavli Theater over the course of this month.
Armando Chavarria, a 21-year-old business major, revels at the chance to see such a renowned comedian so close to home.
“I like how relatable Brian Regan is,” said Chavarria. “A lot of his jokes are based on things that happen everyday or have happened to most of us at least once, which makes it easy to laugh at.”
Brain Regan will be performing Sept. 10 at 7:30 p.m. with his unique blend of slapstick comedy and wit regarding everyday circumstance, Regan has developed a broad audience across all ages and has been busting guts for packed houses across America since 2005, according to brianregan.com.
If you have a slightly more off color sense of humor, infamous funny man, Ron White, is also gracing the same stage on Sept. 26th at 8 p.m.
Hailey Rhode, a 22-year-old film major, was already laughing when she heard about White’s upcoming performance.
“That’s so exciting,” said Rhode. “Ron White is hilarious”.
Most widely known for his work with the Blue Collar Comedy group, White has developed quite a name for himself as a solo act and was even nominated for a 2014 Grammy for his album “A Little Unprofessional”.
Jay Demarcus, member of the band Rascal Flats, encourages people to go out of their way to see Ron White.
“If you have not been to a Ron White show, you have to go,” said Demarcus, in an interview on Ron White’s website tatersald.com.
According to Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza Marketing Director Colleen Debler, roughly 1,000 people are expected to attend Brian Regan’s performance while about 1,500 are expected at Ron White’s.
Tickets for both Regan’s and White’s performance start around $60 and parking will be available onsite at the plaza for $8 or for free at the nearby Lakes shopping mall, according to Debler.
