Students who want to learn more about preventative health care can visit representatives at one of the dozens of tables that line Raider Walk on Tuesday, Oct. 6 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the college’s second annual Health Fair.

Services provided include blood pressure and fitness screenings, information on substance abuse and domestic violence, women’s health, as well as mental and dental health.

Allison Barton, Moorpark College Health Center educator, encourages students to attend to learn about preventing health problems.

“I hope to see a lot of student involvement,” said Barton. “The purpose of this event is to make them aware of the services available and my hope is prevention.”

The Health Fair was designed to educate students on how to stay healthy and avoid future health issues.

Maria Higareda, a 19-year-old psychology major, said she is looking forward to the event.

“This is something that many of us should attend to help us get informed about how to take better care of our bodies,” Higareda said.

Barton hopes that students will take the opportunity to learn more about how they can help improve their well-being, and learn about health services on campus.
