The FleX club held its annual Xtreme Raider Challenge on Saturday, Dec. 2.
A lot of time, work and planning was required for this event to succeed. Jeff Kreil, the faculty advisor for the Xtreme Raider Challenge, explained how the obstacles were decided and how much work the interns have done.
“We tried to incorporate things that maybe people have seen before,” Kreil explained. “I am so proud of them.”
This year, over 250 people showed up to take on the challenge regardless of their abilities. Hip-hop artist Exham Priory showcased one of his new songs. The Xtreme Raider Challenge is a student organized event. Being able to see it come to fruition was a great sight for the interns as well as the advisors.
Raul Valdivia, 34, Radiological Technology major was in charge of the marketing department for this event.
“We are all put in groups and work on specificity tasks,” said Valdivia. “In the end we all work with each other to help other teams complete their tasks.”
An event like the Xtreme Raider Challenge requires both individual and group work. Different people have different skills, and taking advantage of that is part of what the interns had to learn.
The Xtreme Raider Challenge started big and ended big, whether it be quick stepping through tires or getting over an 8 foot wall. Excitement and sweat filled the area throughout this event, but at the end of the day, laughs and exhaustion were shared.
