Students get to explore over 40 different clubs that will be lined up on Raider walk during Club Rush on Jan. 30 and 31.
Payton Robinson, president of Associated Students, is encouraging students to get involved on campus and to sign up for as many clubs as students can. This is a great way for students to learn about what Moorpark College has to offer, according to Robinson.
“This will be the biggest turnout for Club Rush,” said Robinson, 19, Communications major. “We are trying to hit all dynamics of student life on campus.”
The event will be sponsored by the Associated Students and promotes a variety of clubs, and involves free giveaways. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. students will have the opportunity to talk to different clubs and sign up for the ones of their interest.
Kristen Robinson, the Moorpark College Student Activities Specialist, believes that students should have an open mind and explore a new interest. Many students join clubs to further their interest for their major, to meet new people, and to get involved, according to Robinson.
“It is a great opportunity to meet new people and build a community for students,” said Robinson. “Students get to develop different skills that you won’t learn in a classroom setting.”
Donna Rahgoshay, Director of Student Organizations, is in charge of putting together this whole event and has hopes for a successful turnout. To her, Club Rush is a great way for students to get involved on campus and improve student life.
“It helps students see what student life is about,” said Rahgoshay. “You get to find people of your same interest.”
A list of all the clubs attending Club Rush is posted on the Moorpark College website and can be accessed through the following link:
