The Student Health Center is handing out Valentine’s Day themed goodie bags to help promote safe sex and awareness of STI’s during Valentine’s Day.
Students are welcome to stop by the Health Center’s booth in Fountain Hall from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Feb. 12 and 13. Included in all gifts will be a handful of condoms and chocolate Hershey’s Kisses.
Representatives from the Health Center will be passing out the red and pink themed baggies while answering any questions regarding condoms, sexual health, and STDs/STIs.
“It’s important for students to come to our Condoms and Kisses event to learn about the importance of using condoms to prevent the spread of sexually transmitted infections,” said health center educator Allison Barton. “We’ll have plenty of condoms to practice with, and students will get a valentine from us: Condoms and chocolate kisses.”
The Student Health Center hopes to educate students about the importance of condom usage, but also maintaining one’s sexual health by offering plenty of condoms to practice with and take home.
Students inquiring about more information regarding physical, sexual, or mental health can always stop by the Health Center located in the Administration building, Room 111, to talk to a nurse or physician.
Appointments regarding STI testing can be made by calling the Health Center at (805) 378-1413.
