Fall Harvest On The Farm at Underwood Family Farms bring fall spirit to the community
November 3, 2021
Underwood Family Farms’ annual Fall Harvest on the Farm slowly made a return to a more normal experience this year, with many activities for family and friends to enjoy during the season.
Underwood Family Farms hosted the event through Oct. 31, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Attendees experienced a large pumpkin patch, a corn maze, photo opportunities and more.
On the weekends, the farm hosted live bands, pig races, animal shows, demonstrations, themed weekends, live performers and other forms of entertainment.
Suzannah Underwood, marketing manager at Underwood Family Farms, commented how this year’s Fall Harvest on the Farm was different than 2020’s Fall Harvest.
“This year we are allowed to do a lot more than we were last year,” said Underwood. “Many of the restrictions have been lifted, and we have brought back the games, the rides, the live entertainment, the food and many of the activities that we had in previous years.”
During the week, food and snacks were available at the Farm Markets, Country Store and the snack cart. On the weekends, the farm had food booths that offered many choices such as roasted corn, loaded potatoes, shaved ice or kettle corn.
Simi Valley resident Lily Cepeda spoke about why she attended the farm.
“We live in Simi Valley, and I have a little girl- my goddaughter and my niece,” said Cepeda. “It is just a great time. We come all of the time, and we are season pass holders.”
Jasmine Huynh, an attendee at Fall Harvest on the Farm, stated why she went to the farm and how her family enjoyed the corn maze.
“We love the pumpkin house, the giant harvest basket and the tractor,” Huynh communicated.
Underwood recommended families visit the 50 acre farm on weekday mornings. Underwood Family Farms followed all COVID-19 rules and regulations from the County of Ventura and the state of California.
Gate admission on the weekdays was $10. Admission on the weekends varied from $16 or $22 based on themed weekends. Discounted tickets were available seniors 65 years and up, veterans, military members and emergency first responders.
