The Moorpark College Raiders football team is gearing up for the 2023 Homecoming game at Griffin Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 30.
The Raiders will host the Allan Hancock Bulldogs as they look to move above .500 in their 2023 season. The gates to Griffin Stadium will open at 2:30 p.m. and the game will begin at 4 p.m.
On top of being a home football game for the Raiders, the Homecoming game will also be hosting games and raffles. They will also have several food trucks present at a night to spotlight the student body, athletes, staff and alumni.
The Conejo Valley Guide, with over 19,000 followers on Instagram, shared a post spotlighting the event.
“The Moorpark College Homecoming game and events, including a trivia game, food trucks, lawn games and halftime raffle, take place this Saturday, Sept. 30 as the Moorpark College Raiders take on Allan Hancock College.”
The football team is also taking on the Bulldogs for the first time since Allan Hanock defeated the Raiders in the 2022 Strawberry Bowl, which acted as the championship game for the Raiders that season. The Raiders were only narrowly defeated by the Bulldogs, 20-17.
However, in the 2023 season, the Raiders thus far have posted a 2-2 record, while the Bulldogs are currently on a three-game losing streak. Head Coach Mike Stuart spoke about his expectations for the season in a more competitive conference in the first Raider home game on Sept. 2, 2023.
“Offseason-wise, recruiting was a big emphasis so we had to have a lot of depth,” Stuart spoke. “We have our offense and systems in place, and we’re a lot better team than we were last year. Our guys are very bought in.”
The 2023 Homecoming game will bring a jam-packed night filled with fun and games for those of all ages. While the football team gears up for a Strawberry Bowl rematch, fans can find more information on the night here.
