Travis Scott brought his “Circus Maximus” Tour to SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on Nov. 5, 2023. The tour supports the rapper’s fourth studio album titled “Utopia.”
The “Circus Maximus” Tour is Scott’s first tour since the tragedy at the Astroworld Festival on Nov. 5, 2021, during which 10 individuals were killed and hundreds more injured at the rapper’s concert in Houston, Texas. The show at SoFi Stadium occurred exactly two years after this heartbreaking event.
Each of the 28 shows the rapper had originally planned for his tour were sold out, and he was subsequently driven by fan demand to add 11 extra show dates to his concert tour.
“Thanks for making me the first rapper to sell out SoFi Stadium,” Scott stated during his show at the arena.
Scott undoubtedly made history as the first rapper to sell out the venue, and his gratitude to fans for his success shined through.
Rapper and singer Teezo Touchdown opened Scott’s show at SoFi Stadium. The musician released his debut studio album on Sept. 8, 2023, and has been incredibly successful for having released his own music only one month before opening for Scott on his tour, which began on Oct. 11, 2023.
Due to the fact that the show was in Los Angeles, most fans were sure that Scott would bring out a guest performer during his set. To the excitement of many, rapper and singer Playboi Carti was welcomed to the stage by Scott to perform their song titled “FE!N.”
David Tun Dzul, a sophomore at Moorpark College, attended the concert at SoFi Stadium and expressed excitement regarding the rapper’s surprise appearance.
“Travis bringing out Playboi Carti for ‘FE!N’ has to be [one of the] most iconic moments I’ve seen, especially being at SoFi Stadium where Travis became the first rapper to headline and sell out the stadium,” Tun Dzul expressed.
Playboi Carti wasn’t the only guest to grace the stage during the concert, though. Scott also brought out his 5-year-old daughter during his performance of the song “MAFIA.” Stormi, daughter of Scott and socialite Kylie Jenner, was fitted with protective earmuffs while dancing next to her father atop one of the many props on the stage.
Kate Cruz, a freshman at Moorpark College, was pleasantly surprised by Stormi’s presence.
“I thought it was really cool because no other artist has brought out family to be with them on stage except Beyoncé,” Cruz shared.
Travis Scott’s “Circus Maximus” Tour will wrap on Jan. 31, 2024 in Orlando, Florida. The concert tour has been overwhelmingly successful, and the rapper’s performance at SoFi Stadium was a combination of exciting surprises for fans.
