Underwood Family Farms ‘Springtime on the Farm’ event brings Easter joy to the community

This spring, families had the opportunity to attend Springtime on the Farm at Underwood Family Farms in Moorpark, from March 20 to April 11. Due to COVID-19, this spring on the farm was different than the rest.

New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2021 featured quarantine-inspired designs and exclusive collections

New York Fashion Week hosted their second virtual fashion week in mid-February where the participating designers debuted their fall/winter 2021 collections through live streamed runway shows.

New punk rock vegan restaurant, Fatty Vegan, opens in Ventura and draws crowds of hungry music enthusiasts

Fatty Vegan is now serving vegan comfort food to the Ventura county community. A new restaurant in Ventura is embracing both vegan food and punk rock, inspiring its' community to be good to each other, as well as themselves. Fatty Vegan opened up to the public in January of this year and has had a strong impression on the community.

Dance Club reboots and continues digitally due to the COVID-19 pandemic

In the spring semester of 2020, Moorpark College's Dance Club stopped meetings and stayed inactive even when all classes transitioned online. The revival happened when Hannah Rios, club president, organized for meetings to happen again and recruited people into the club.

BarnHouse Vintage Market hosts COVID-19 friendly event at The Oaks mall

On Saturday, Feb. 27, the BarnHouse Vintage Market took place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Thousand Oaks. Vintage jewelry, clothes, books and other unique objects were seen all throughout the booths. The market was held in the movie theatre parking lot of The Oaks mall.

Dance department streams its first ever virtual performance, ‘Dance for Camera Project’

On Friday, Dec. 4, the Moorpark College dance department live streamed its very first virtual dance performance, the Dance for Camera Project. This hour production was immediately followed by a Q&A with all the dancers, staff and student choreographers. The Dance for Camera webinar was live streamed over both Zoom and YouTube.
