The Moorpark College Foundation and Associated Students will host its first annual Holiday Lights event on Saturday, Dec. 3 from 2 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The lights will be provided by a variety of sponsors and will be festively displayed around campus to celebrate the holidays and raise money.
The event is free and geared toward all ages. There will be face painting, a rock wall and a variety of other vendors.
Elad Goren is the president of the Moorpark College Foundation and is hoping to raise money for the foundation to benefit the college.
“We take that money and give it back to the school in the form of scholarships for the students at the college or going on to other colleges,” Goren said.
Goren encourages all students to attend the event with their friends and family.
“Most importantly it’s supporting the school and it’s supporting them,” Goren said.
The foundation is hoping to raise money through crowd funding, so those interested in sponsoring are encouraged to visit holidaylightsatmoorparkcollege.com to donate or find out more information.
In conjunction with the Holiday Lights event, America’s Teaching Zoo will be hosting “Arctic Lights” on Saturday, Dec. 3 and Sunday, Dec. 4 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission to this event is $4 for children and seniors and $5 for adults.
