The Raiders traveled to Santa Barbara City College on Wednesday night for a showdown that would determine who was going to sit alone at the top of the Western State Conference.
The Raiders were 5-0 in conference play heading into the game with a 16-3 overall record on the season.
Santa Barbara was also coming in with a 5-0 record in conference, but only boasting an 8-8 record on the season.
With much anticipation for the game, Santa Barbara was overwhelmed by Moorpark’s fierce attack.
The Raiders continued their dominance with an 8th straight 3-0 sweep by defeating Santa Barbara.
Once again, the Jessica Soprano to Karissa Flack connection proved to be an unstoppable force.
Soprano had 21 assists and two aces, while Flack had 14 kills and five blocks.
“We are really on a roll,” Flack said. “Santa Barbara is our competition this year for the top of the league, and I’m just proud that our team was able to show what I know we are capable of tonight.”
The Raiders are sitting confidently at the top of the Western State Conference with an undefeated record and seem to have no plans in stopping their dominance.
