Moorpark women’s volleyball was swept, 3-0, by Pierce College Wednesday night in their conference home-opener.
Pierce is coming off of a state championship campaign from last season, and showed that they are on a mission to do the same this season. Showing dominance, Pierce won the first two sets by the same score of 25-17.
“I think the key issue was passing their float serve. It killed us. We just couldn’t pass the majority of their serves.” Sophomore, Karissa Flack said. “Our front row defense needed work also.”
The third game was closer, but ended in the same result for Moorpark 25-20, as Pierce won the match, three games to zero.
Flack led the lady raiders offensively with eight kills and two aces, while Jasmine Sagisi led the defensive side with 13 digs.
The lady raiders fall to 5-3 on the season and return to the floor again at home on Friday against Irvine Valley College, at 5:00 p.m.
