Moorpark College hosted its annual Multicultural Day, which featured a number of different performers and speakers. Greeting people from center stage at the Quad was acoustic guitarist Heday of the rock band Layla Lane.
In addition to performing some of his songs, Heday spoke to those in attendance about how he got to where he is today. He sought to give advice to those pursuing a career in the music industry.
After performing George Harrisons’ “Here comes the sun”, the Japanese sensation cited The Beatles as his biggest influence.
He spoke for a few minutes about the qualities of a successful person and told attendants that persistence and believing in yourself will always lead you down the path to success.
“If you really believe in something and work hard at it, you will get to that point,” said Heday.
Layla Lane has had their work featured in numerous television ads as well as the major motion picture Killers starring Ashton Kutcher.
