People who enjoy watching student written, directed, and performed plays have the opportunity to see the Original Student One Acts on multiple days from May 1-11.
There are nine plays, which are split into two bills, Bill A and B. The bills will play on alternative nights.
Kathy Lewis, producer and facilitator of the One Acts, said that she developed this program in the 70s because of her experience at UCLA.
“There is tremendous diversity and point of view,” said Lewis. “Some audience members, even college students, might find it shocking.”
The plays on bill A include “Opening Night,” written and directed by Cait Vasquez, “A Disintegrating Mind Part 2,” written and directed by Grace Liner, “Absolute Pin,” written by Joe Silva and directed by Jared Lenway and Tyler Galbraith, “The Final Spiler,” written and directed by Peter Mazzeo, and “Cheated,” written by Jenna Zollman and directed by Ashley Morse.
Bill B includes “Genesis,” written by Kris Dowling and directed by Nick Hobbs, “Death and the Law,” written by Derek Cartwright and directed by Mary Jones, “Party Animals,” written and directed by JT Mendoza, and “It Belongs in a Museum,” written and directed by Chris Campbell.
All One Acts contain adult themes and are not appropriate for children.
To purchase a ticket, buy them at the box office for $10 or online for $8.
