This year’s Multicultural Day, one of Moorpark College’s biggest events of the year, will celebrate diversity and world cultures and, following with this year’s theme of “Nurturing Nature,” many events focusing on a world perspective on environmentalism.
All day, Tuesday April 15, many MC classes will be cancelled in order for students to participate in and enjoy approximately 70 lectures, discussions and performances set up around campus.
Some professors offer extra credit for attending events, and still others make attending certain lectures assignments worth points.
Although activities begin as early as 8:30 a.m., the whole day will officially start outside the administration building at 9:50 a.m. with the Multicultural Day Parade and Opening Ceremony, presented by College President Dr. Eva Conrad and the Associated Students President Andrew Anzalone.
The day’s festivities will last until 9 p.m., concluding with Professors Jerry Caplan and Lori Clark’s film debate/discussion, “The Truth About an Inconvenient Truth.”
