Expansion’s monthly excursion of experimental music and abstract art continues into autumn with headliners TOKiMONSTA and Nosaj Thing.
SpaceRockerz, Cheshire and Josh One are a few of the other DJs performing at the fifth installment of the concert series.
Local deejay, Kid Chameleon, also known as 23-year-old Moorpark College student Matthew Loniero, will also be performing with the world-renowned disk jockeys set to perform on Sept. 30.
“I’m really excited to be sharing the stage with Nosaj Thing,” Loniero says. “I’ve seen him before but I’m really stoked to see him again because he has one of the coolest sets that I’ve ever seen. He’s really laid back”.
The entertainment is not only limited to music but it will also include live painters and a fire dancer. Mimi Yoon, John Park and Evan Mendelson are just some of the artists who have confirmed painting during the event.
Twenty-three-year-old graphic design artist and former Moorpark College student, Curtis Scoville, will also be live painting and is currently working on visuals for the upcoming event.
“We control the atmosphere for the entire crowd,” he says on behalf of Afterglow Visual Productions, his production company. “We are harmonizing the lights and visuals with the music that’s being played.”
Afterglow Visual Productions works with lighting installments for musical performances. They use projectors to display mystical illusions on the main stage and performers.
Megan McBride is a 23-year-old former Moorpark College student, FIDM graduate and artist for Afterglow Visual Productions.
“I’m so excited to do visuals and lighting for TOKiMONSTA,” McBride says. “She’s such an inspiration to me.”
