Coach Mercetic was pleased with his team’s strong performance tonight.
“We rebounded well and ran the ball well on every possession,” Mercetic said. “I am pleased with how smart we played tonight.”
Pirate center Julie Heurung feels good about her team finishing their regular season undefeated.
“It feels pretty good,” Heurung said. “Not many people can say they made history by being on an undefeated team.”
The Pirates will know Tuesday what team they will host for the First Round of the playoffs, set to tip off at 7:30 p.m. Saturday night.
Despite the historic season the Pirates have put up, Heurung believes her team must prepare for the playoffs by continuing to play hard.
“We look forward to the next game,” Heurung said. “We have to continue to play hard.”
