As the 2012 spring semester comes to a close, Moorpark College’s commencement ceremony is fast approaching.
Corey Wendt, the department chair of counseling, said that 880 students applied this spring semester, which are 110 more than recorded in spring 2011.
“This spring is the most we’ve ever had apply for graduation,” said Wendt.
The commencement ceremony will include students transferring next fall, as well as those who have completed their degree or certificate requirements in the Fall 2011 and Spring 2012 semesters. It also will include students who are set to complete their requirements by the Summer 2012 semester.
Three hundred students are expected to participate in the ceremony, out of approximately 1,300 students who were mailed letters indicating graduation eligibility.
