Students have an opportunity to get involved with clubs at Club Days.
Club Days at Moorpark College provide students with an opportunity to meet like- minded peers and form social connections.
In previous years, Club Day has been a one-day event. This semester, Club Days will occur on two consecutive days, Oct. 29 and 30. Booths will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will have a Halloween theme.
Director of Student Organizations Victoria Zolfaghari looks forward to seeing the event come to life.
“It’s one thing to write a play,” said Zolfaghari. “But to watch it get played out in front of you is a whole different dynamic.”
Students who attend Club Days can expect to see booths for student organizations lining Raider Walk. Each booth will advertise and provide basic information and meeting times for the corresponding student organization.
Zolfaghari claims that attendance this year will be better than prior years, primarily due to the new student leadership of many clubs.
“All of the club officers [are] already very enthusiastic, and eager to begin planning,” said Zolfaghari.
According to Zolfaghari, joining clubs can be an integral element of a student’s experience at Moorpark College. In addition to looking good on a resume or college application, clubs can provide students with a chance to expand their social circle by meeting students with common interests.
“It’s especially a great resource for new students,” said Zolfaghari. “By getting involved not only are they helping themselves, but they are also supporting Moorpark College’s student life.”
