The Moorpark College Student Health Center will be closed Fridays for the remainder of the fall semester.
Nurse Sharon Manakas explains that the Student Health Center is going through staffing shortages.
The former clerical head received a promotion at the district, leaving the position vacant it will take about six to eight weeks for this position to be filled by the most qualified employee.
The Student Health Center hopes to find a replacement promptly so health services can resume on a regular schedule. The hours of operation remain unchanged, Monday/Wednesday from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Tuesday/Thursday 9 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Services that were available on Fridays will now be distributed throughout the week. Nutritional aid will be on Thursdays from 1-4 and personal-issues counseling as well as other nursing-related assistance will be available by appointment.
