Moorpark College students have talent and this spring, the world will finally see it. This spring, the Associated Student Government is hosting its 10th annual talent show. Auditions are being held from Nov. 24 to Jan. 7.
Applications to audition are located immediately inside the double doors leading to the Campus Center. As students pass by and see the glaring stand up sign, already dozens of hopefuls have already applied.
The application has a list of categories from which to sign up for, including band, dance, singing, comedy and playing an instrument. For those that have unspecified talents, they will be able to compete as well.
Though the details of the talent show have not been finalized, James Pilkington, vice president of Associated Students is certain that the show, overseen by Director of Campus Events Marissa Martinez, will be a success.
“I have confidence that Director Martinez will ensure that it is a positive experience for both the contestants and the audience,” said Pilkington. “I am looking forward to seeing what kind of talent the students of Moorpark College can showcase.”
As an incentive, the winners will be receive cash prizes.
Moorpark College student Alyssa Cunial, 22, majoring in history and anthropology, said that a talent show is what Moorpark College needs right now.
“Anything like that is a good outlet especially in times like these, with the economy and all the issues that are going on.”
