The Moorpark College Women’s Soccer team suffered a loss to
The Raiders were unable to come from behind and tie up the game. The final score was 2-1 leaving the team with a record of 2-1-4.
Assistant Coach Geoff Raives spoke about how difficult it is to come back from behind.
“When you’re down a couple goals it’s kind of hard to fight the whole rest of the game and try to get a victory,” said Raives.
The team was unable to convert on a penalty kick which would have tied the game up at two apiece.
The general consensus of the team was that the loss was not due to a lack of effort. Mid Fielder, Cassie Mathison, said the team usually begins to find their rhythm at the 20 minute mark of the first half.
“All of a sudden we hit the twentieth minute and we start picking up, we’re first to the ball and we’re playing well,”said Mathison. “If we could play the whole game like we do in the last half of both halfs, we’d be golden.”
Assistant Coach Mike Alexander spoke about what the team needs to improve on going into their next match.
“Forgetting about this match and moving onto the next one, that’s what we need to focus on,” said Alexander.
