Students who have trouble overcoming their fears of tests are being offered helpful tips and stress reducing solutions by the Moorpark College Health Center staff through the online Health 101 website.
Moorpark College Student Health Coordinator Sharon Manakas said that she wants all students to feel at ease at this college, especially now that finals are approaching quickly.
“Finals create stress and anxiety in general,” said Manakas. “How a student handles the stress and anxiety is the important part, thus the article. I am hoping many students will take the tips to heart and make some changes in their preparation.”
The online website provides tips for students, as well as helpful ways to avoid the stress that finals week brings.
“Beat the Stress, Before Your Test”is an article for students who may encounter test anxiety, what it is, how to prevent it, how to prepare and further references at the end. It was written by the Post Doctorate of Psychology Dr. Nick Jewell. It also ran in Student Health 101 fall semester as well. If students go onto this website, they will be able to view all that it has to offer, as well as a chance to win $2,500 just by completing a simple survey.
Moorpark College student Megan Cline, 18, mathematics major, said she plans on taking advantage of this website.
“I think it’s really important that all students use this website to help them with their tests, fears, and any other fears they might have,” said Cline.
