Insomnyac Entertainment believes that you are the next big thing.

Founded in 2005 by former Moorpark College student Jonathan Avila, 19, the recording studio has grown quickly and is gaining a positive reputation in the local music scene. Located in Oxnard, the company will record all genres of music and takes the process a step further.

“It’s not just a studio,” said Avila, “It’s a company that is dedicated to helping out local musicians in Southern California in many different ways.”

The company offers many services that other studios may not, such as web design, graphics design, unlimited studio time, and mass production of the artists’ CD. One service that sets them further apart from the competition is ‘Insomnyac Sessions’, where an artist can make an appointment to record at any given time of the day or night, regardless of the regular studio hours.

The company is focused on helping further the careers of musicians all around Southern California, Avila said.

Insomnyac Entertainment is not just for musicians either. Normal folks can visit the website, insomnyacentertainment.com, and click on the “Your Town” section to find artists in their cities. The cities include: Oxnard, Ventura, Moorpark, Thousand Oaks, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, among many others. There is also an events section so that you can find shows by your favorite local artists. You can find information on artists through the “Artist of the Month” feature.

“We pick one artist we have been recording, and write an article with a sample of music on the site,” said Avila.

The company does more than just record, it also benefits the artists and helps them in every possible way.

“With a place like Insomnyac Entertainment, Jon looks more into how you are going to develop as an artist.” “[By] allowing a producer/artist relationship,” said Saga, an Oxnard hip-hop artist. “Which is an essential part of making good music. [He makes the] studio a place of creativity and execution.”
