Realization is a beautiful thing. It’s the glorious moment when you finally see something for what it really is.
This is an argument against the idea “ignorance is bliss.” I believe there’s nothing blissful in ignorance; I’d rather see the whole picture, because even if it isn’t pretty, the truth is real. Truth is underestimated; its power is often overlooked.
And to those who say there’s no such thing as truth, who say there are no absolutes-I say to you-are you absolutely sure?
Because here’s the absolute; we all, that’s right all 6 billion plus of us on this earth, want to be loved.
I’m not talking about the romantic kind love, as in “Oh please be mine, I can’t live without you!” I’m talking about the kind of love that says “I will live for you, I will put your needs before my own.”
It’s the love of a mother for her child, the sleepless nights, diaper changes numbering to the thousands, it’s the love of a true friend who always has your back. It’s the love of someone who asks how you’re doing and really cares to know the full answer.
This love is real and it’s powerful. Some would say it even transcends death. I know this is true, because when someone who loved you dies, while they may be gone in the physical sense, their love is real and still impacts your life, even in the form of a memory.
I would go so far as to say that love is the only thing worth living for.
“There’s nothing you can know that isn’t known.
Nothing you can see that isn’t shown.
Nowhere you can be that isn’t where you’re meant to be.
It’s easy.
All you need is love, all you need is love,
All you need is love, love, love is all you need.”
