I think I should get one thing out of the way, I have nothing against Sarah Palin personally, and am not for a second seething with the typical Democratic rage you would find online at sites such as palinaspresident.com

When it comes to whether or not I think she would be a competent VP choice for John McCain, however, I echo former White House Counsel John Dean, who spoke at Moorpark College on Constitution Day; she has the potential to some day be a great person of importance, but right now she has nowhere near enough experience. Dean also pointed out how the senate has to approve a judge for the Supreme Court, and if a similar process existed for Vice Presidential hopefuls, Palin would never get approved.

But going back to my previous comment, I believe that none of this is her fault. Its all McCain’s doing. Why he would choose her, under any circumstances, is mind boggling, especially when you consider that he made his decision only after knowing Plain existed for two hours. Was McCain, or his handlers, so concerned by his age that they chose a pretty political scrub?

Her inexperience was never more apparent than when she spoke at the vice presidential debates debates. McCain’s campaign had made a mad dash to cram as much information regarding her position and party into her noggin before airtime. This was evident in the way she swerved specific questions and only addressed the ones she had been briefed on.

This resulted in her holding her own against Biden, who was probably “playing nice,” but also in her debate containing less of a natural flow. Political junkies are used to double speak, but not usually that much. In short, Palin just doesn’t have the right stuff to be vice president at the moment.
