The Lady Raiders took on the visiting Oxnard Condors’ in a WSC game. The Lady Raiders had a tough start when it started, but came back strong ended up winning the game with a score of 13-9.

Oxnard started off the game strong getting six runs in the first inning. The Lady Raiders didn’t give up after the huge inning. The team came back strong as they went on to score eight runs in the second inning.

“The biggest thing was with the first inning we put some runners in the base with walks, along with bunch of errors” said Head Coach Dave Fox. “It was really good to see them come back and play much better softball.”

The Raiders after that strong second inning played solid defense for the rest of the game, and offensively found a stride and kept the Condors grounded throughout most of the game. They had the momentum of the second inning and didn’t look back.

“Moorpark is a really strong team I know we can come back when were down,” said Outfielder, Nicole DiBeneGorger. “You have to have a really strong mental aspect of the game and I know Moorpark has that”

The Lady Raiders had a home run hit by Megan Zigler during the game. They had a total of seven stolen bases, and 12 total RBI showing the great day of offense that the lady Raiders had.

“It was great to see the bats come alive, especially out of a couple people who have been struggling a bit. That have worked hard. To see them succeed was good,” said Fox.

Moorpark will travel to take Mt. San Antonio in another divisional game. Overall currently the lady Raiders are 2-4 overall in WSC play, and look to use the momentum from this game to move on to another good win on the road.
